Call for Villages

We are thrilled to invite you to join us for our third BSides Adelaide in July 2026. Our call for villages brings a unique opportunity to share your expertise, network and collaborate, educate and empower your community in a vibrant and collaborative setting.

Why you should host a village:

BSides Adelaide is not just another information security conference; it's an event driven by the community, for the community. Security BSides events are typically organised as informal, grassroots gatherings and are known for their inclusive and open nature. Villages are dedicated spaces about a specific topic which should focus on hands-on activities and workshop events.

What we're looking for:

We are seeking diverse and interactive villages that cover a wide range of interests withing the information security or related domain, that can engage attendees through hands-on activities, workshops and collaborative thinking.

We encourage submissions across conventional and emerging security topics. Examples could include but are not limited to:

Capture the Flag (CTF): Hone hacking skills, solve real-world scenarios, and collaborate in cyber security challenges, fostering expertise and teamwork.

Lockpicking and Physical Security: A fun and educational space to explore lockpicking, understanding lock mechanisms, and access vulnerabilities, suitable for all skill levels.

Careers: Unlock career opportunities, refine resumes, practice interviews, connect with employers, and gain mentorship and insights for industry success.

Emerging Technologies: Focus on new trends such as AI, blockchain, IoT or quantum computing, and offer demonstrations or hands on experience in how this might shape the future of security.

Submit an idea:

To be a part of this exciting event, please submit your village proposal by Friday 17 April 2026. Proposals should include a brief description of your village, its objectives, and any special requirements. Our team will review all submissions and contact you regarding your participation.

The event will take place over several unique spaces at the Amora/Hilton . We want your village to be in the environment best suited for your idea.

As part of your proposal, please nominate your top three preferred spaces from the list below. You should consider things such as size, layout, and location. We’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences; final allocations will depend on availability and event requirements.

Call for Talks

BSides Adelaide is South Australia’s community-driven cyber security and advanced technology conference. It brings together engineers, defenders, researchers, students, government, Defence and industry practitioners to share knowledge, discuss real challenges and strengthen the local security ecosystem.
The event is intentionally practitioner-led and community-first. Rather than a traditional vendor-led conference, BSides Adelaide focuses on real experiences, honest lessons, technical insight and practical capability development.
If you have something interesting, useful or thought provoking to share with the community, we want to hear from you.

Calling all security professionals, researchers and enthusiasts!

We invite you to submit a talk proposal for BSides Adelaide 2026.
This is an opportunity to:
- share knowledge with the cyber and technology community
- present research, lessons learned or technical insights
- contribute to the growth of the local security ecosystem
- connect with peers across industry, government, Defence and academia
- support the next generation of cyber professionals

Whether you are a seasoned presenter or considering delivering your first talk, BSides Adelaide provides a safe environment to share ideas and experiences.

Why you should present a talk:

BSides originated as a venue for talks rejected from larger conferences such as BlackHat. In that same spirit, we welcome submissions that may not fit the format of traditional events.
We are particularly interested in talks that include:
- Technical Deep Dives
- Real incident response lessons learned
- New research of experimental work
- Offensive or defensive techniques
- Engineering secure systems
- Practical demonstrations or tooling
- Honest discussions about what work and what didn’t

If your talk was rejected elsewhere, that does not mean it is not valuable to the community. BSides may be the perfect place for it.

What we're looking for:
Submissions may include (but are not limited to):

  • Cloud security and DevSecOps
  • Incident response and threat hunting
  • Offensive security and red teaming
  • Application and software security
  • AI / ML security considerations
  • Critical infrastructure and OT security
  • Hardware, embedded or IoT security
  • RF, spectrum or satellite security
  • Privacy, governance and resilience
  • Security engineering and architecture
  • Threat intelligence and detection engineering
  • Security automation and tooling

If your topic does not fit neatly into these categories, that’s completely fine.
BSides thrives on diverse ideas and perspectives. All submissions will be reviewed by the BSides Adelaide organising team and successful speakers will be contacted following the review process.

Submission Guidelines

Your talk should either be new and not presented elsewhere or contain significant new material or updates.
Each selected talk will include 30 minute presentation and 10 minute audience Q&A.
If your talk is accepted at another event before BSides Adelaide with the same content, please notify the organisers.
